Srinagar: Terming the governments ban on private tuition by teachers of education department as unmindful and hasty decision, former minister and chairman Democratic Party Nationalist (DPN) Ghulam Hassan Mir Tuesday said that the ban will deprive J&K students from a system of better education.
Mir said that with no alternative in place, a blanket ban on private tuitions by seems illogical.
He said that during the period of militancy, it was these tuition centers run by teachers of both education department and private institutions which provided quality education to the students of the state. The tuition academies played a great role in imparting quality education to the students during the dark days of militancy, he said, adding students will have to face immense problems in want of quality of teachers for private tuitions.
In past few years, the private tuition academies have created a system of better education which has helped the students of the state to make headways in competitive examinations.
A blanket ban on the tuitions by teachers of education department is only to deprive students of better education, he said.
It would be like banning private practice of doctors which has always created problems for patients, he said.
