SRINAGAR United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Resident Coordinator in India, Ms Lise Grade Friday called on Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah here and discussed matters relating to Jammu and Kashmir development.
The Resident Coordinator apprised the Chief Minister of the UNDP interest in the capacity building programmes under implementation in the State.
While lauding the initiatives of Omar Abdullah led Government in the State for capacity building of youth, women and grass roots level public representatives, Lise Grade said that UNDP can be partner in the successful implementation of these programmes. She said UNDP would like to be partners in the programmes like UMEED, strengthening of Panchayati Raj System and development of handicrafts in the State.
Welcoming the UNDP intension, the Chief Minister said that he would direct the concerned departments to actively take a view in this regard and move forward accordingly.
