SrinagarFCC Gulabagh beat Sofi XI in the summit clash to lift Syed R&B Cricket Tournament. The final that was played at Islamia College Hawal, Srinagar turned out to be a well fought encounter but it was FCC Gulabagh which showed big match temperament to take home the trophy.
In a low scoring thriller, Sofi XI opted to have a bat first but couldnt justify their decision to be bundled out for a 100 in 19.3 overs. Niyaz Beigh was the only substantial contributor making a solid 30 but his teammates didnt support him For the bowling side, Tajamul Ashraf and Adil Polard were pick of the bowlers snaring two and three wickets respectively.
In reply, FCC Gulab Bagh was reduced to 30 for 4 but it was the duo of Abid Ahmad and Irfan Rashid who guided FCC to a nail-biting two wicket win.
Irfan Rashid was named as man of the match as well as player of the tournament.
Altaf-ur-Rehman Director Physical Education Islamia College was the chief guest at the event.
