SRINAGAR: Imtiyaz Malla ripped through his opponents with the ball in his hand taking five wickets as his side Master XI Ompora crushed Excess XI Parsaabad in the league game of Shaheed Aga Syed Mehdi Memorial T-20 Cricket Tournament played at Budgam Sports Stadium, Budgam on Thursday.
Batting first Master XI Ompura amassed a score of 179 for the loss of eight wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Parsaabad didnt get anywhere close to the target, shot out for a paltry 89 inside 16 overs thanks to Imtiyaz Malla who took five wickets to break the back of the chase. He was duly given the man of the match award.
In the second game of the day, Senior Sheikhpora XI beat Karan Nagar XI by 14 runs at the same venue. Batting first, Sheikhpora made 188 for the loss of seven wickets in the allotted 20 overs. The star of the innings was Ajaz Ahmad who consumed just 29 balls for a well made 73.
Karan Nagar XI got close to the target managing a score of 174 for the loss of six wickets, falling short by just 14 runs.
Man of the match award was given to Ajaz Ahmad for the match winning knock.
