SRINAGAR: The sports infrastructure in Srinagars Nishat area got a major flip Thursday with Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti allotting 30 kanals of land for the sports activities in the suburbs of the city, a statement from Jammu and Kashmir State Sports Council said.
Mehbooba, who heads the JKSSC, as per the statement, had directed the revenue department for allotting the custodian land to Sports Council, who are all set to develop a stadium for the aspiring sportspersons of Nishat and adjoining areas.
The statement said that a delegation of youth had requested the chief minister for the allocation of the land in Brein Nishat for sports activities which prompted Mufti to direct Sports Council officials to secure it.
