Sherbibi Accident : Protests in Anantnag against ‘revenge murder’

Anantnag: The family members and neighbours of the deceased driver-conductor duo from Qazigund and Dooru, Anantnag Thursday came on streets and protested against what they called “revenge murder”.

The locals alleged that the duo were crushed to death by a trailer, bearing registration number JK02BH 2877.

The family members of the duo said that the “the truck is intact and no damage has been done to it.”

However the police said that the duo were killed in a road accident in Sher Bibi Nachalana in Banihal.

According to police the  truck registration number  JK03E  8811 fell into a deep gorge after being hit by a trailer  bearing registration number JK02BH 2877 at Sher Bibi Nachalana under police station Banihal resulting in on the spot death of the driver and conductor.

The police identified the deceased as Abdul Gani Dar, a resident of Kreeri Nopora  Dooru and Mudasir Ahmad Rather, a resident of  Watihal Qazigund.

The trailer has been seized and driver namely Bali Ram of Chatta Jammu has been arrested, police said.
