Srinagar: Two people were killed when a trailer hit a truck on Srinagar-Jammu national highway, said a police spokesman on Thursday
He said the truck registration number JK03E 8811 fell into a deep gorge after being hit by a trailer bearing registration number JK02BH 2877 at Sher Bibi Nachalana under police station Banihal resulting in on the spot death of the driver and conductor.
He said the deceased have been identified as Abdul Gani Dar, a resident of Kreeri Nopora Dooru and Mudasir Ahmad Rather, a resident of Watihal Qazigund.
The trailer has been seized and driver namely Bali Ram of Chatta Jammu has been arrested, the spokesman said.
He said the questioning of the driver is going on to ascertain the circumstances of the accident.
Further investigation is going on.
