One Year On, Power Transformer Yet To Become Functional

Srinagar: The residents of Shatmuqam village of Drugmulla area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district are up in arms against the Power Development Department (PDD) for ‘failing to make the installed transformer functional in the area’.

The residents said that the authorities in the PDD department had installed the 100 KV transformers in their village almost one and a half year ago but has failed to make it functional.

“We are facing tremendous hardships due to the apathy of the officials in the department. The authorities must no ignore our plights and should take immediate measures to redress the genuine of grievances of villagers,” the aggrieved villagers said.

They said that the transformer was installed one and a half year ago but has not been made functional, which expresses the negligence of the authorities.

The inhabitants of the village later appealed the PDD higher ups to look into the matter and redress their genuine grievances at earliest. (KNS)
