Posting Of Officers Lack Muslim Representation: JMF

Jammu: Jammu Muslim Front (JMF) on Wednesday slammed PDP-BJP for what it called as “directionless transfers”.

The PDP led government on Monday late night ordered a major reshuffle in civil and police administration.

Condemning the transfers by the government, the JMF termed it as a mere “eye wash”. “…government is working whereas valley is still boiling; instead of tackling unemployment, government is busy in unbalancing and showering benefits to its blue eyed boys,” the JMF alleged in a statement.

“These orders lack representation to Muslim officers which could have strengthened the social bonds and uphold the flag of justice equality but government lacks vision due to which recently in Ramgarh of Samba (district) a two-hundred-year old graveyard was bulldozed pulling more than 40 skeletons of (dead) Muslims in open in the name of development for erecting play ground,” the JMF said. “Such incidence would have not occurred if Muslim officer would have been the part of administration.”

The JMF added that recent transfers “have sent shock waves in Muslim community and are feeling suffocated”.

The group appealed chief minister Mehbooba Mufti to “rise above all and view these transfers again to balance the share in administration”. “Such act will help in boosting the morale of community who have been hurt unbalancing order.”
