SRINAGAR: Minister of State for Haj & Auqaaf, PHE, I&FC, PDD, Industries and Commerce Farooq Andrabi today visited various shrines in the city and took stock of the arrangements put in place for the auspicious occasion of Meraj-ul-Alam.
Andrabi visited Dargah Hazratbal, Kailashpora shrine in old city and Jenab Sahib Soura and interacted with the devotees and the concerned administrations besides officials of Wakaf Board.
Minister laid stress on better sanitation, cleanliness, uninterrupted power and water supply to the shrines during auspicious days. He asked officials to ensure adequate transportation arrangements to facilitate devotees paying obeisance at prominent Khankahs/shrines during the holy days, especially for night prayers.
The Minister directed all concerned officers to ensure timely and fool proof arrangements for Shab-i-Meraj. He also interacted with the devotees and inquired from them about the facilities and arrangements put in place by the authorities.
Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Farooq Ahmad Lone, accompanying the Minister during the tour informed the Minister that proper arrangements have been put in place to ensure uninterrupted power supply, proper parking space so that devotees do not face any problem during the auspicious days.
He informed the Minister that SDM Srinagar, Syed Mohammad Hanief Balkhi has been pointed Nodal officer to all Ziyarats and people can contact him regarding arrangements on 9419009472.
