Attendants force X-Rey lab shut in Pattan

PULWAMA: Patients at the Sub District Hospital Tral have alleged that ‘unauthorized’ absence of doctors and paramedics have added to their hardships thereby putting lives to grave danger.

“Majority of the hospital staff comes early in the morning to mark attendance and then leave for private clinics causing immense hardships to the patients,” a group of Tral residents said. “The absence of staff has severely affected the patient care at the hospital.”

They alleged the hospital was without a surgeon, a professional gynecologist and an orthopedician.

Meanwhile, the agitated attendants locked the X-Ray lab at the Sub-District Hospital, Pattan. The attendants said that an outdated X-Ray machine in the hospital was a show piece and the X-Rays done in the lab were often rejected by the doctors. “We locked the lab with a hope that a digital X-Ray machine will be installed in the hospital,” the agitated people said.
