SRINAGAR: Restive Palhallan in North Kashmir erupted in rage Thursday afternoon after Govt. forces cordoned off one Mohalla prompting local boys to resist the move, residents said.
At around 3:30pm, a joint party of police, paramilitary and RR personnel descended upon Hajam Mohalla and laid a cordon, they said. The local boys resisted the move by pelting stones at forces.
To quell the resultant street clashes the forces fired dozens of tear gas shells and resorted to aerial firing, creating chaotic scenes in the area, they said
