Yasin Malik was scheduled to lead a protest sit-in tomorrow against “choking of political space”, spree of arrests, restrictions and ban on all kind of political activities and against promoting religious hatred in Jammu Kashmir.

“Despite his arrest, this sit-in will be held tomorrow on Friday, October 9, 2015 at Lal Chowk as per schedule,” the spokesperson said.

While condemning the arrest of JKLF chairman from his residence, the spokesman said that Malik being the head of his family and the only elder male member of his family was engaged with the marriage ceremony of nephew Ishfaq Ahmad whose Nikah Khwani is scheduled for Thursday but “police at the behest of coward rulers raided his residence, harassed his relatives and arrested him”.
