Dir Education for revival of teacher dignity
SRINAGAR: Government Girls Higher Secondary School (GGHSS), Sonwar, Friday celebrated Teachers Day to honour the teachers for their contribution to the nation and to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan.
Director School Education, Kashmir Dr Shah Faesal was Chief Guest on the occasion.
Besides, Principal, Affifa Ashai, staff and students of GGHSS Sonwar, educationists, dignitaries, teachers and students of cluster schools were also present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Faesal said that there is need to bring back glory to the Nobel profession of teaching. He said teachers are makers of a Nations future who help build its foundation, adding that they help contribute in building a civilized and progressive society. He said teachers play a pivotal role in shaping and developing students besides inculcating in them the lesson of truthfulness, honesty and humanity.
He urged the teaching fraternity to work in a mission mode to improve the standards of education through quality education giving a better product to the society in the form of good human beings.
On the occasion, a colourful cultural programme was presented by the students of the school.
