Mantriji Too Without Passport

SRINAGAR: There are people even in the government who have been denied vital travel document since years.

Sources said that the Peoples’ Conference (PC) chairman Sajad Gani Lone applied for the passport three years earlier but his application continues to remain in limbo.

At present, despite being senior cabinet minister in the state government, Sajad has no passport, hence unable even to move out of India.

Sources privy to this development revealed that the name of PC chairman Sajad Gani Lone has been blacklisted and the authorities have been continuously denying him his right to travel.

Sources said that Sajad’s name has been put in prior approval category (PAC) wherein Foreign Ministry issued a list which contains the names of 5000 people that won’t be issued passports.

“Sajad Lone earlier in the 2012 had applied for the passport but till date there has been no progress in the application. It is indeed ironic that a minister in BJP-PDP coalition has no passport,” sources said.

Pertinently, Sajad is married to the daughter of veteran JKLF leader Aman-ullah Khan who presently stays in Pakistan.
