SRINAGAR: Minister for Information Technology, Technical Education and Youth Services & Sports, Mr. Imran Raza Ansari today convened a divisional level officers meeting to review the situation arised after snowfall and unprecedented rains.
The Minister got appraisal from the concerned officers about the snow clearance from the city roads and district headquarters, besides drainage of accumulated water from low lying areas of Srinagar city.
The Minister also took stock of availability of food grains and other essential commodities in the valley.
The Minister was informed that the snow have been cleared from all roads of Srinagar city and district headquarters. He was informed snow cutter machine have been put in service in the all affected areas.
Regarding dewatering, the Minister was informed that SMC and Fire and Emergency Services have put their men and machinery in service the process of dewatering in water logged area is in full swing. Regarding availability of essential commodities, the Minister was informed that sufficient quantity of food grains including rice, sugar, atta, k-oil besides LPG is available in the valley.
The Minister also took stock of restoration of electricity. He was informed that power supply has been restored.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister exhorted upon the divisional administration to redouble their efforts and provided all amenities to the people so that they do not suffer.
The Minister was informed that all health institutions are functioning normally. The minister instructed the Commissioner SMC to ensure fumigation of all schools of Srinagar. He directed the CA&PD authorities to intensify market checking in order to avoid profiteering and black marketing. He also directed the Traffic Police to ensure traffic regulation in city.
