BARAMULLA: A 2-day Employment Fair-Cum-Recruitment drive camp was today kick started at Degree College Baramulla. The camp is being organized by District Employment & Counselling Centre Baramulla in association with NSDC-Udaan. The Programme was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner, Baramulla. All line departments, sponsoring agencies and bankers participated in the Fair. The main motive of the camp was to aware the youth about various sponsorship schemes for budding entrepreneurs.
Many Corporate Companies visited the fair for on spot registration and interviews of the candidates. The major companies that visited the fair were Accentue, BTSPL, CGI, Fidelis, IIFL, Reliance HR Services, Religare Voyages Ltd, Rooman Technologies, Mount Talenting Consulting, IL & FS and Genpact.
More than 2000 youth participated in the camp and as many as 400 students were registered till 1 PM in the Camp. Youth including Graduates, Post graduates and three year engineering diploma holders were eligible to participate in the said recruitment drive. The candidates registered with the District Employment & Counselling Centre Baramulla, with special reference to candidates registered under VSA scheme also participated in the drive.
Speaking on the occasion, Assistant Director Employment said that the main motive of the fair is to enhance employment opportunities for the youth of the district. He termed the employment fair as a platform for youth to get more and more exposure at the national level. Moreover, he said that the main agenda of the Employment Department Baramulla is to create Biotech parks and Food Parks. However, he stressed for sustainability and said that our main focus should be on primary sectors and reversing the interest of youth in horticulture, agriculture and animal husbandry.
