SRINAGAR: Former deputy director prosecution, Bari Andrabi; young political activist, Syed M Hussain, Gujjar leader Deen Mohammad Cheetah and journalist Tahir Syeed Friday joined the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Party president, Mehbooba Mufti welcomed the new entrants into the party fold, in presence of senior party leader, Muzzafar Hussain Baig, at her official Gupkar residence. The senior PDP leader, Abdul Haq Khan, MLA Lolab and youth wing in charge, Waheed-ur-Rehman Parra were also present on the occasion.
Bari Andarbi, 49, from Pucchal area in Pulwama district has some time back voluntarily retired from the government job as deputy director Prosecution.
Syed Mohammad Hussain is the grandson of Aga Syed Mustafa of Budgam. A businessman and a social worker, Hussain has been also active in the politics.
Deen Mohammad Cheetah, a prominent Gujjar leader has been active in the state politics for decades now. He was provincial organizer of the NC.
Tahir Syeed associated with media has also joined the party.
