A hotel at boulevard used for examination
SRINAGAR: The Crime Branch has established the doubtful credentials of 14 out of 24 students presently under scanner for their nexus with brokers who facilitated paper leakage of Common Entrance Test (CET)-2012.
Quoting sources a KNS report said that the telephone calls and the academic records of 14 students were cross checked with the information available with the Crime Branch that the team probing the paper leakage scam cracked the nexus.
Sources added that the poor academic performance up to 10+2 level and in the GMC helped to track down the students who had benefited out of the paper leakage scandal. A hotel at Boulevard was hired for a complete day for the purpose of entrance examination and the BOPEE would arrange everything for the blue eyed students, sources in the Crime Branch revealed.
In that year former BOPEE chairman had a huge turn over. We have reports that he got two flats in Delhi, one at Sidhra in Jammu, constructed a palatial house at Bhathindi in Jammu besides purchased two shops and over 15 Kanals of land in Srinagar. But we are still probing details of his assets, a top officer in police revealed.
Sources in the GMC said that these students, who had appeared on the top of the then merit list, were not able to answer even the basic questions during their academic interaction at the college.
Meanwhile, a judicial magistrate has listed hearing of the bail application filed by Sajad Bhat, one of the accused in the CET paper leakage case for tomorrow (Tuesday). Sources in the court said the crime branch sought time to file the report in the matter, which was granted by the court.
