Kishtwar – Political Advisor to the Chief Minister Devender Singh Rana Monday said that the Omar Abdullah led governments visionary, futuristic and comprehensive power generation initiatives will make the Chenab Valley an economic hub of the state.
Rana who was addressing a ten hour long party workers meeting Kishtwar here today said that unprecedented economic resurgence will happen in this part of the state in the next couple of years changing the scape of the entire sub-region thereby transforming the quality of life of the people of this area thanks to the vision of Omar Abdullah.
He said Omar Abdullah led government and its journey from 2009 to 2012 has been a journey from turmoil to peace, from disharmony to harmony, a journey of economic resurgence, equitable growth and futuristic infrastructural development.
The PDP leadership today is crying hoarse but during their three year tenure they did not initiate even a single power project which could have helped today to improve the power scenario in the state, Rana said adding that the Rs. 3900 crore grant which was received by the PDP as power reform grant from 2002 2005 was swindled away for cheap political gimmicks rather than initiating power reforms to strengthen transmission and distribution system in the state.
He said had even Rs. 1000 crore out of Rs. 3900 crore had been spent on power reforms during 2002 to 2005 by the PDP, the power scenario today would have been much better.
Rana said the polity of the state and the country as a whole has changed and is looking towards a clean, honest, accountable, transparent political setup which is not based on small political machinations but on a vision for the larger good of the people. He said while the PDP leadership has continued with its politics of deceit and hollow sloganeering, National Conference under the leadership of Omar Abdullah has been focusing on value based politics where truth, integrity, clean and good intensions play a pivotal role with the sole aim and objective of providing an effective system of governance.
He said Jammu and Kashmir National Conference will defeat the divisive forces in J&K who have based their politics on region, caste and creed because the J&K National Conference is committed to maintain and uphold and strengthen the secular fabric of the state.
