Div Com Discusses Procedure With Political Representatives, Officers
Jammu – Divisional Commissioner Jammu . Pardeep Gupta convened a meeting of officers and representatives of political parties to discussed various issues regarding Special Summary Revision of electoral rolls.
Election Commission of India has ordered Special Summary Revision of Electoral Rolls with reference to 1st January, 2013 as qualifying date for the voter age, the Div Com informed the meeting.
He apprised the meeting that calendar for summary revision has been notified and informed that the political parties can file claims of Objections, corrections and mistakes, etc by submitting forms 6, 7, 8 and Form 8-A.
He said that the persons desirous to be enrolled must submit photographs in duplicate along with Form 6. He said that Booth level officers (BLOs) have been appointed for polling stations and adequate forms have been supplied to them.
The divisional commissioner said that the Forms can be type written, cyclostyled, Photostat or in manuscript provided they are the same as prescribed adding that the Forms can also be downloaded from CEOs Website.
He also asked all recognized political parties to appoint Booth Level Agents and informed further that during special summary revision the applications in bulk shall not be received and entertained.
Among others, Deputy Commissioner Jammu . Sanjeev Verma, Joint Director Information Jammu . Soujanya Sharma, Joint Commissioner JMC . Babu Ram, Tehsildar Jammu, R.S Pura, Bishnah, Khour, other seniors officers were also present in the meeting.
