Srinagar – To expedite the revision of electoral rolls 2013, Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Dr. Asgar Hassan Samoon who is also the Electoral Roll Observer for Ganderbal district convened a meeting of District Officers here today.
Among others, District Election Officer, Ganderbal, Electoral Registration Officer and Assistant Electoral Registration Officer of Ganderbal district participated in the meeting.
It was given out in the meeting that against the total electorate of 1,41,204 electorates of the district, Electoral Photo Identity cards have been issued to 1,02,000 electorates. It was also informed that as many as 200 Booth Level Officers have been appointed for the same number of polling station established in the district.
Divisional Commissioner emphasized for conducting awareness camps in educational institutions especially colleges for registration of electorates having attained 18 years of age. He also urged for expediting the addition, deletion and registration of electorates to ensure time bound revision of electoral rolls.
