Srinagar – Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation, Mr. Raman Bhalla informed the House that due to the hailstorm / heavy rains on 13 June, 2012, as many as 4048 hectares of Rabi crop (Wheat) have been damaged as per the assessment made by the District Administration Kathua.
The Minister was replying to a Call Attention Notice by Mr. Subash Chander Gupta in Legislative Council today. He said the Divisional Commissioner, Jammu has sought clarification from Deputy Commissioner, Kathua regarding admissibility of relief in light of the revised SDRF norms issued by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs. The matter is under examination in the office of Deputy Commissioner, Kathua, he added.
The Minister said that as soon as the final damage report / requirement of funds is received, the matter in respect of cases admissible in terms of state Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) norms shall be placed before the State Executive Committee for consideration of release of funds.
