BUDGAM: Lecturers posted in Boys Higher Secondary School (BHSS) Budgam Thursday alleged that examination centres located in their Higher Secondary are turning out to be trade centres where students after paying bribe to supervision staff are resorting to mass copying.
Lecturers of BHSS Budgam alleged that they were directed by the Principal to inspect the examination centres located in the Higher Secondary. We were stunned to see students involved in mass copying. Students were copying from the Urdu reference books which they had been allowed to carry with them in centre number 226, they said.
The lecturers further said that after their objection, the Superintendent of the Examination Centre tried to pacify them in vain.
The irony is that we were not allowed to meet Deputy Commissioner Budgam whom we wanted to apprise about the situation, they said.
These incidents have come to fore despite various measures, including imposition of prohibitory orders near the exam centers to counter any unfair practice or to stop help from outside to the students who are sitting in the examination center.
Reacting to the reports, Secretary, Board of School Education, Reenu Goswami said that strict action will be initiated against the supervision team if report is proved correct.
Secretary said that she has taken up the matter with Joint Secretary Examinations who will visit the concerned Higher Secondary to ascertain the facts.
