JAMMU: An engineer allegedly committed suicide by blowing himself up with explosives used for construction work, in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir, police said today.
Parvesh Kumar (25), a junior engineer with General Reserve Engineering Force, allegedly tied explosive sticks to his chest and blew himself up at his residence in Manjakote belt of Rajouri district around midnight yesterday, police said.
Kumar died on the spot, they said, adding that his body was later taken to a hospital where post-mortem was conducted. Kumar, who was working on the construction of Kanga Gala road, used explosive sticks used for breaking rocks for construction work, police said.
A case has been registered and investigation started, they said, adding that some family problem is said to be the cause behind Kumar’s extreme step.
