SRINAGAR: Minister for Forests, Environment and Ecology, Mian Altaf Ahmad today reiterated that the development of remote and far flung areas has been prioritised and the tribal areas of Fakir Gujri Dhara of district Srinagar shall also be developed to facilitate the people of the area.
During his visit, Mian Altaf interacted with the people and assured that government is working hard for improving the life standard and socio-economic conditions of the people.
The Minister announced that Fakir Gujri area will be developed as a Model Village soon for which Rs. 1.20 crore will be utilised besides facilitating the area with better road connectivity.
The Minister directed the Wild Life, LAWDA and Social Forestry Departments to work in unison and identify the areas for plantation so that pristine glory of Zabarwan area is made more attractive besides ensuring environment and ecological balance.
Mian Altaf also urged the Wild life authorities for executing the work on developing a pond at Mamnait Dhara. He also directed the concerned authorities for construction of lavatory block at Nagabal Dhara besides constructing the Farm Pond and Chek Dam in Dhara area so that long pending demand of people are fulfilled.
The Minister also said that additional quantity of timber shall be allotted for the distribution among the deserving people.
Among others, District Officers of Soil Conservation, Wildlife, LAWDA, Rural Development and other concerned Department accompanied the Minister.
