Srinagar: Demanding immediate release of detained government employees leaders, Chairman Hurriyat Conference (G) Syed Ali Geelani today said that the state Government was handling every situation with iron fist.
In a statement, Geelani said that issues could have been resolved through negotiations but the policy of the state Government is adding fuel to fire by arresting employees leaders and cracking whip on the protesting employees .
It is the moral responsibility of the state employees to discharge duties sincerely but at the same time they have the right to protest for the fulfillment of their demands. Geelani said.
The senior separatist leader further stated that the way in which employees leaders are being harassed and shifted to jails has no legal ground and such actions are highly condemnable.
Meanwhile, Hurriyat (G) chairman has expressed serious concern over the plight of the prisoners, detained in different jails across valley. The statement mentions that the number of detainees acroos valley are suffering from many ailments but the jail authorities are reluctant in providing medical facilities to them.
At central jail Srinagar Mohammad Ayub Dar, Mohammad Yasir Yatoo and Shakeel Ahmad Bhat are suffereing from different diseases and at Baramulla Jail Maqssod Ahamd Bhat, Aijaz Ahmad Dar, Bilal Ahmad Dar, Mohammad Ashraf Kumar and Shabir Ahmad Bhat are suffering from many diseases and the doctors have already requested the jail authorities to shift the ailed prisoners to hospitals but Jail authorities.
