SRINAGAR: Describing the so-called religious centre as a brothel, Police Friday issued two mobile numbers requesting all the followers especially girl students and their parents to come forward and record their true statements against the self-styled Darvish Gulzar Bhat before the police.
We promise all these people that their names and identity will be kept secret and they will never come in the picture anywhere. We appeal them to help us in bringing this rapist to justice, Sub-Divisional Police Officer, Khansahab, Bashir Ahmed Dar said adding that all the girl students have been evacuated from the so-called religious centre.
We observed the functioning of this centre and there is evidence proving it was a brothel. There were no classrooms, no syllabus, no curriculum in the centre. We were surprised to observe this all. Girls belonging from different parts of Valley were lodged there and we are trying to ascertain the facts what prompted their parents to send them there, SDPO said.
He said police has ample proof to term Gulzar Bhat as rapist. I appeal all the victims and his followers to come forward and help police this time for sake of humanity and Islam. Anyone can contact us on our mobile numbers: 9858268026 and 9419437685. We assure them all possible help and their identity will be kept secret, SDPO said.
Meanwhile, a top police official said that all the parents of the girl students were called to police station and were directed to take their children back to their homes. There are two parts of it. Some students are innocent while others are part of this sex-game. Those who are part of this were reluctant to go to home back as they are scared of backlash from the people in their areas. The innocent ones fear that people will not believe them now, he said adding that police is mulling to go for medical examinations of those girls who are believed to have become prey of this self-styled Darvish.
