SRINAGAR: Chief Ministers Political Secretary Tanvir Sadiq alongwith Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Farooq Shah today flagged off the 3rd run for Shahr-e-Khaas.
Hunderes of persons, including athletes, civil society members, students and sports person participated in the run. The Political Secretary to Chief Minister Tanvir Sadiq who was the Chief Guest alongwith the DC Srinagar Farooq Shah flagged off the participants from TRC ground Srinagar in the wee hours today.
The J&K Sports Development Association organized the 3rd Run for Old City (Shahr-e-Khaas) from TRC Ground Srinagar to Islamia College gate, Hawal via Munawarabad, Baba Dawood Khaki Bridge, Baba Demb, Naid Kadal, Bohri Kadal, Rajouri Kadal and Gojwara Chowk.
Tanvir congratulated the organizers for such an event and asked them to continue as this is a tribute to Old City talent, Heritage and Culture. Youth have shown much interest in these events and it helps to channelize their energy for constructive purpose. He complimented the runners.
Later prizes were distributed amongst the winners. Riyaz Ahmed came first and completed the run in 16.34 minutes. Others who were present include the organizers and representatives of the Sports development association.
