Srinagar: Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar, Mr. Farooq Ahmad Shah reviewed the arrangements being made on the Urs of Hazrat Sheikh Dawood (RA) (Batmoal Sahab) at an office meeting here today. The Urs is commencing from May 04, 2013.
MLA Batmlu, Mr. Irfan Ahmad Shah, officers from PDD, PHE, R&B, Health, Police, Traffic, CA&PD, SMC, Fire and Emergency Services besides representatives of Auqaf Jamia Ziyarat Hazrat Sheikh Dawood were present on the occasion.
Deputy Commissioner directed the officers to ensure availability of essentials especially LPG, Ration, Sugar and K. Oil to the people of the area besides providing necessary facilities to the devotees during the Urs days. He asked PHE department to ensure adequate water supply and to PDD authorities uninterrupted power supply to the people of the area during Urs days.
Shah instructed the officers of Srinagar Municipality Corporation (SMC) to make proper arrangements of sanitation and cleanliness in and around the shrine before the commencement of the Urs besides installation of mobile toilets and making all street lights functional in the area.
Farooq asked the officers of R&B department to carry out necessary repairs of the roads leading to the Shrine besides making Batmaloo bus adda, dewatering station functional. He also directed the officers of Health department to setup medical camp equipped with all medicare facilities to meet the demand of the devotees during the Urs days.
Regarding traffic arrangements, Mr. Shah exhorted upon concerned officers to take appropriate steps for the smooth movement of vehicles besides making adequate parking arrangements during Urs days.
