NC punishing opponents: Sajad

SRINAGAR: Peoples’ Conference Chairman Sajad Gani Lone today alleged that frontier district of Kupwara had been turned into a ‘forgotten district’ by the National Conference.

Every department and every scheme in Kupwara district is moulded with scams and corruption. There is a deep-rooted nexus in the district between elected representatives and  corrupt officials to repress the people and dispense governance as a derivative of an individual’s political affiliation as opposed to the tenets of justice and fairness, he said while presiding over a Workers’ meeting.

PC Chairman said that National Conference has a chronic policy of punishing those who vote against its nefarious politics and Kupwara was a classic example of this depraved and vengeful practice of selective governance. The elected representatives from the Kupwara District have a history of stooping to any level to penalize and persecute those who haven’t voted for them. They use the State apparatus and government wherewithal to harass and bully those who oppose them with their votes in elections. This political discrimination against the common man while unbecoming of elected representatives - is a traditional hallmark of NC’s record of manipulative politics in J&K.
