SRINAGAR The residents of Khanda village of B.K Pora Tehsil are suffering on account of water shortage due to leakage and blockage of pipes at different places.
The locals of the area including women staged a protest by blocking traffic for hours. Gulzar Ahmad, a local resident, told Kashmir Observer: There is no water in our village for past several weeks, causing immense hardship to people during the holy month of Ramazan.
The locals have to walk over one kilometre to fetch water from open canal or to wait hours for water tanker , he said.
