SRINAGAR The States Home Department has ordered a prosecution against six militants, five of on the run, under section 45 of Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.
According to states home department, Police Station Devsar on 28 November 2017 received a reliable information to the effect that militants namely Altaf Ahmad Dar alias Altaf Kachroo son of Gh. Mohd Dar of Hawoora; Ramiz Ahmad Dar son of Ab Rehman Dar of Hawoora; Faisal Ahmad Rather son of Ab. Rashid Rather of Yamrach; Sheraz Ahmad Lone son of Ab. Rashid Lone of Sutch Kulgam; Altaf Ahmad Sheikh alias Captain son of Mohd Akber Sheikh of Reshipora Qaimoh and and Tariq Ahmad Bhat son of Bashir Ahmad Bhat of Redwani Bala are roaming in the area to commit unlawful activities in the area. On this specific information, Nakas were established at all routes and SDPO, Qazigund conducted MVCP at Pahloo and during checking one vehicle Alto plying towards the Naka point was stopped and the boarded persons fled away while as one accused was arrested on spot. During preliminary enquiry, police said, the accused disclosed his name as Tariq Ahmad Bhat and admitted that he is an associate of escaped militants who were boarded in the vehicle. The vehicle has been seized on spot and necessary documents prepared and placed on record.
A case FIR No. 66/2017 at Police Station, Devsar was registered u/s 18,20,38,39 ULAP Act and investigation taken up.
After independently scrutinizing the case diaries, the government ordered launching of prosecution against all of them. While five militants are still absconding, the proceeding under section 512 CrPC.
