SRINAGAR A soldier was killed in a gunfight with the militants in Kharpora Sirnoo village of south Kashmirs Pulwama district on Saturday, the army said.
An army spokesman said that a soldier wounded in the gunfight earlier today has succumbed.
He said that three militants were killed in the gunfight that broke out after the forces launched a cordon-and-search-operation in the area. The operation is going on, he said.
Seven civilians were killed after the forces opened fire on protesters near the site of the gunfight.
