SRINAGAR: With uncertainity in air people in most parts of Kashmir today came out of their homes and resumed normal buiness after five days of government curbs and separatist shutdowns.
Shops, offices, business establishments and banks opened today after five days as authorities lifted curfew imposed in most parts of Kashmir. However reports from Baramulla and Bandipore in north Kashmir said a protest shutdown against arrest of youth by police in nocturnal raids continued on Saturday.
In Srinagar public transport was plying normally on all routes of the capital.
Curfew was imposed in most parts of the Valley as a precautionary measure to foil plans of separatists to hold protests.
Majlis Mashawarat (Consultative Committee), an amalgamation of separatist groups, is spearheading an agitation seeking return of mortal remains of Parliament attack convict Mohammad Afzal Guru and JKLF founder Mohammad Maqbool Bhat to their families.
Guru and Bhat were hanged and buried inside Tihar Jail on February 9, 2013 and February 11, 1984 respectively.
