JammuJammu and Kashmir Governor N N Vohra Wednesday visited Rajouri district and was briefed by a top Army commander about the management of the entire stretch of the Line of Control (LoC), an official spokesman said.
General Officer Commanding of Army’s 25 Division Maj Gen Suchindra said the governor was also informed about the help which the Army provides to people living in the border areas and facing problems when the Pakistani Army violates ceasefire, the spokesman said.
Suchindra also briefed about the management of the entire stretch of the LoC which comes in the area of responsibility of the important Army formation, he said.
Defence spokesperson N N Joshi said the governor was briefed on operational and matters pertaining to local population of Rajouri and Poonch districts.
“The governor interacted with the Army personnel present there and provided valuable guidance by sharing anecdotes from his vast experience,” the spokesman said.
Deputy Commissioner of Rajouri Shahid Iqbal briefed the governor about various problems faced by residents of villages along the LoC and the rescue, relief and rehabilitation support being provided by the district administration.
“Vohra advised the deputy commissioner to ensure that the academic schedules of school-going children are interrupted to the least possible extent,” the spokesman said.
The spokesman said the governor also chaired the valedictory function of ‘Silver Rolling Trophy’ at the Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU) during his visit to the district.
