Shopian—Unidentified persons uprooted an ATM and run away with it along with a cash of Rs.4.28 lakhs from the premises of a local hospital during night, Police said Wednesday.

The Jammu and Kashmir Bank ATM Machine with cash has been stolen from Shopian hospital premises during the night. An amount of Rs 4.28 lakhs was in the ATM at the time of the crime, bank officials said.

They said it was a “meticulous” operation carried out by some “professionals” that the persons sitting in the adjacent departmental store did not even heard a sound of uprooting of the ATM.

The hospital remains busy throughout as patients visit the hospital without any restriction of time.
