RajouriChief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti who was on a days tour to the area, visited the shrine of Hazrat Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah at Shahadara Sharief and paid her obeisance there.
The Chief Minister joined the annual urs celebrations at the shrine which are being observed on 9th and 10th of Muharram every year.
Mehbooba Mufti also launched the website of the shrine on the occasion. The website besides giving an in-depth information about the life and teachings of the 18th century saint also provides information about boarding and lodging to the intending pilgrims.
The Chief Minister, who is also the Chairperson of J&K Wakf Council, also inaugurated the community kitchen constructed by the shrine management for the convenience of the pilgrims. She interacted with the devotees and sought their feedback about improving services by the shrine management.
Minister for FCS&CA and Information, Choudhary Zulfkar Ali; Minister of State for Hajj & Auqaf, Syed Farooq Andrabi; MLA, Rajouri, Choudhary Qamar Hussain; Vice Chancellor, BGSBU, Prof. Javed Mussarat; Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Dr. M K Bhandari; IGP, Jammu zone, SDS Jamwal and senior officers of district administration were present on the occasion.
Later, the Chief Minister held a review of the developmental activities in the district. She enquired about the pace of work on the Medical College at Rajouri besides other developmental works in the district.
