CM directs Police, divisional admn: ‘Nab culprits involved in braid chopping’

Srinagar— Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti Saturday issued strict instructions to the divisional administration and Police to nab the culprits found involved the braid chopping incidents in the State.

The Chief Minister chaired a meeting of senior civil and police officers in this regard here today.

Mehbooba Mufti asked the DGP to constitute special teams in every district and track down the culprits found involved with spreading fear among young women by chopping their hair.

The Chief Minister also directed the Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir to ask all the Deputy Commissioners to instill confidence among local people and solicit their cooperation in nabbing the culprits.

It may be recalled here that the Chief Minister few days back while expressing concern had directed the DGP to constitute a special team to nab the culprits found involved in braid chopping incidents in Kulgam district and elsewhere in the State.
