ShopianDistrict Development Commissioner Shopian Mohammad Aijaz Asad Friday inspected the entire stretch of Mughal Road from Shopian upto Peer Ki Gali. During the inspection DDC took a comprehensive on spot review of blacktopping of the road surface, protection works, repairing of potholes at various locations including site near Dubjian bridge and Lal Ghulam Bridge.
Executive Engineer Mughal Road Mr. Mohammad Sidiq briefed the DDC regarding progress of various activities after throw inspection.
DDC expressed satisfaction at the level of improvement of Mughal Road during last three months and said that condition of Mughal Road has improved significantly rendering the road surface in a traffic worthy condition.
Further With a vision to promote cleanliness in all spheres of district, District Development Commissioner Shopian launched cleanliness drive at Peer Ki Gali Under Swachta Hi Seva today in presence of Executive Engineer of Mughal Road, Mr. Mohammad Sidiq, Executive Engineer R&B, Abdul Aziz, Chief Executive Officer Dubjian-Pir ki Gali Development Authority, Tehsildar Shopian, and concerned District/Sectoral officers including a large number of people. During the Swachhta drive Astaan Sharief premises was also cleaned including the peripheral area near Pir ki Gali.
Speaking on the occasion, DDC said the main motto of conducting the Swachta Hi Seva in the district is to create awareness amongst the masses so that the message of cleanliness can be spread to every nook and corner of the whole district and every person contributes in the noble cause of promoting cleanliness.
DDC appealed the visitors to contribute in preserving the Fragile Ecological architecture of Peer ki Gali.
On the occasion DDC issued Instructions to CEO Dubjian Pir Ki Gali Development Authority to make a comprehensive plan for beautification and face lifting of Pir ki Gali including Ziarat Sharief. He asked CEO to make a plan for construction of Lavatory Block at Pir Ki Gali for convenience of tourists and passengers. Further, it was impressed upon all and one to preserve the pristine nature of the tourist spot.
It is pertinent to mention that Peer Ki Gali is a land mark gateway on Mughal Road between Kashmir Valley and the Peer Panchal region.
