Shopian-To finalize the schedule for National wide sanitation programme “Swachhata Hi Seva” The District Development Commissioner Shopian Mohammed Ajaz Asad Wednesday chaired a meeting of district and sectoral officers here at mini secretariat Arhama, Shopian.
The meeting was attended by Chief Executive Officer Aharbal Development Authority, Assistant Commissioner Development, Chief Education Officer, Programme Officer ICDS, Chief Medical Officer, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, District Panchayat Officer, Executive Engineer’s from Public Health Engineer, Power Development Department, Mughal road, Executive officer municipal committee Shopian , all BDO’s ZEO’S and other concerned officers and officials.
During the meeting threadbare discussions were held regarding the National wide Sanitation programme (Swachhata Hi Seva).
The meeting was out to create awareness on environmental cleanliness in the entire district so a campaign Swachhata Hi Seva cleanliness , will be started from 15th sep,2017 upto Gandhi Jayanti on 2nd oct.The DDC urged all officers present in the meeting to accelerate Swachhata activities during the September15th to October 2nd 2017.
He further pledged to continue the drive to make a better eco-friendly environment.
On the occasion, DDC said that it shall be endeavour of officers to maintain a clean and hygienic atmosphere on all establishments. As it is very well said that cleanliness is next to godliness.
The meeting was decided that citizens, panchayat’s Municipal committee and school children will participate in the sanitation activities during 18 days campaign that will culminate on Gandhi Jayanti i.e. 2nd oct2017. He said the sanitation drive will be observed on daily calendar of activities deserting from 15th September which will involve municipal committee, Rural development department, police department, Education department, Social welfare department and banks operating in district .Besides local citizens elders, women, social works etc to achieve laid down milestones.
On the occasion the DDC asked the police department to actively participate and assist in the district. He directed the municipal committee to make suitable arrangements for disposal of waste/garbage collected during the sanitation drive.
