SrinagarReal Kashmir edged past J&K Forest XI 3-2 in a thrilling encounter of premier division of Annual State League Football Tournament played at Synthetic Football turf Srinagar on Wednesday.
In a thrilling show, both teams started slowly but as the time went by players upped the ante in search of a first goal. The pacy football didnt yield any goals as teams went into half time break stalemated at 0-0.
The second was all aggression from both the sides with Real Kashmir showing real urgency. It was Real Kashmir that drew the first blood thanks to Akib who dribbled past Forest defenders to find the net and give his side 1-0 lead in the 58 the minute. Asrar doubled the lead minutes later to have Real Kashmir in ascendancy. With a couple of goal in arrears, Forest XI were desperate to reduce the margin and they did succeed to make it 1-2 but Asrar from Real Kashmir didnt take time to further the gap finding the net to make 3-1. Zameer ul Hassan reduced the margin in the dying minutes with a consolation but it was Real Kashmir that emerged the winners at the time of the final hooter.
Meanwhile, courtesy a lone goal from Danish Farooq, Young Lal Chowk defeated State Football Academy Team 1-0 in the Super Division fixture of Annual State League Football Tournament played at the same venue.
The tournament is being organised by Jammu and Kashmir Football Association in association with District Football Association, Srinagar.
