TralShortage of infrastructure, paucity of space, medicine and inadequate staff at decades-old Sub Health Centre and Family welfare (SHCFW) Narastan, in Aripal tehsil of Tral sub district is taking its toll on patient care system.
Locals told Kashmir Observer that the said health centre was established decades back in a private building but till the date it has not been equipped with adequate facilities like new building, staff and medicines.
The residents who continue to yearn for a full-fledged health care centre in the village accuse the successive governments and health department of failing to fulfill their long pending demands in the area.
The residents said their repeated pleas have fallen on deaf ears. The centre as per locals is functioning from Anganwadi Centre now, after Owner of the sub centre expelled the staff from there due to some rental issues.
“Health centre in Narastan is ridden with problems. If anyone falls ill at night we suffers a lot here because not even a paramedic remains available at night ” says Mudasir Ahmad, a local resident living in close vicinity of the sub health centre.
However , concerned BMO refused to give any information and directed this Correspondent to get permission from Director Health Services for conversation with him.
“You can’t talk to me regarding any issue until and unless you get permission from Director Health Services Kashmir” Block Medical Officer Tral, Dr Gobinder Singh Mehta said.
Despite several requests Director Health Services Kashmir could not be contacted.
Meanwhile,People of the area who continue to suffer have requested the higher authorities to personally look into the matter as early as possible.
It is pertinent to mention here that the patients in Sub district hospital Tral also suffers due to lack of doctors and other medical facilities in the hospital.
