SrinagarAdditional Director General of Police, Civil Defence, Home Guards and SDRF, L. Mohanti Thursday felicitated the Civil Defence/SDRF team for winning a gold medal in the Kashmir White Water Rafting Marathon, which was held at Wussan, Ganderbal last week, a statement from the department said.
The event was jointly organised by the Department of Tourism and Adventure Tour Operators Association of Kashmir.
Eleven teams- Kashmir University, Central University of Kashmir, Islamia College, Adventure Tour Operators Association of Kashmir, Tourism Department, J&K Ski & Mountaineering Association, J&K Mountaineering and Hiking Club and Kashmir Rafting Operators Association of Kashmir- participated in the tourney which was won by Civil Defence/SDRF team.
Commandant SDRF, Bashir Ahmed Sofi and Director, Disaster Management J&K and team manager Aamir Ali were also present at the function. According to the statement, Mohanti announced cash reward and commendation certificates in favour Javed Ahmed Tinda, Irfan Hussain, Sajad Hussain Matoo, Mohd Akbar Akhoon, Irfan Hussain Tinda, Waseem Hussain Akhoon and Aqib Hussain Akhoon.
