KULGAM, DECEMBER 20: Emphasizing expeditious activation of KYC forms, Deputy Commissioner Mr. Jehangir Ahmad Mir today called for timely and hassle free delivery of gas supply to the consumers.
Chairing a joint meeting with representatives of Gas Agencies and Revenue Officers here, the Deputy Commissioner approved the schedule under which five delivery points were identified in each Tehsil of the district for smooth supply of gas cylinders.
Mr. Jehangir asked the Tehsildars to monitor supply of gas cylinders in their respective Tehsils and ensure that the schedule is adhered to. He asked the District Managers of gas agencies to furnish weekly statement of stock and supply position to his office. The meeting was informed that out of 45,670 gas connections, as many as 32,230 KYC forms have been received by the gas agencies for activation. And, of the received KYC forms, 24,799 stand activated till date.
It was emphasized that the gas agencies will ensure delivery of LPG cylinders at the identified delivery points. The meeting decided to stock ten percent of the cylinders as a reserve quota so that supply position goes on smoothly during the closure of national highway. He asked them not to charge extra money on account of fixed security for transfer of new connections. It was told that no security money is payable for transfer of new connection to the legal heirs.
The Deputy Commissioner sensitized the officers about the importance of streamlining gas stock and supply position. He said serious efforts need to be put in to facilitate consumers especially during the present harsh winters, adding proper coordination among the stake holders holds prime significance for the efficient delivery of cylinder service.
Among others, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Mr. Gulzar Ahmad Dar, ACR, Tehsildars and representatives of gas agencies participated in the meeting.
