New Delhi: The Central Board of School Education (CBSE) has declared that marks obtained in Class 12 examination by candidates will not be considered in JEE Main now on.
It said that in the process of normalizing marks for JEE Main2017 Result, scores obtained in Class 12 examination will not be considered now on. Till 2016, ratio of 60:40 was applied in normalization of scores, wherein, 60% weightage was held by JEE Main scores while 40% weightage was given to class 12 examination score. Since 10+2 scores have no role to play anymore, it is essential for candidates to secure higher marks in JEE Main 2017 exam.
JEE Main Result 2017 will be now released in form of score cards at jeemain.nic.in. However, All India Rank for the candidates will be out on the official website on June 30. JEE Main 2017 Score Card comprise of scores obtained by the candidates in the exam. In addition to the result, CBSE will release Merit List on the basis of Normalized Marks calculated for each candidate. Normalization of marks will eliminate role of class 12 marks from this year onwards as per CBSEs declaration.
JEE Main is conducted by CBSE on national level to admit eligible candidates for B.Tech/B.Arch courses across the nation. Premier institutes like IITs, IIITs, GFTIs and SFITs consider JEE Main score to admit aspirants to their desired courses in accordance to rank obtained by them.
The Normalization is done as per number of candidates in the exams and aggregate marks. The students from CBSE board are at a loss and state board and ICSE board have an advantage with this system. Further information can be had from collegedunia.com.
