SRINAGAR: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) credited Modi wave for partys landslide victory in assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh on Saturday .
In a statement, the BJP spokesman said, People of Uttar Pradesh have rejected the Congress and Samajwadi Party out rightly. They have made it clear that they are with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and support his pro-people policies.
The results of the elections have dispelled the notion that BJP enjoys support of only a few sections of the society. The people have given a decisive verdict that Modi is their leader and even minorities have voted for him.
The Modi wave which started with 2014 Lok Sabha elections, is continuing and would go beyond the 2019 general elections, he added.
