Jammu: Minister for Rural Development & Panchayati Raj and Law & Justice Abdul Haq Khan on Saturday said the Department of Employment has registered 104577 unemployed youth in the state.
Replying to a question of Sat Paul Sharma in Legislative Assembly during on-going winter session, the Minister said 58796 unemployed youth are registered in Kashmir valley and 45781 in Jammu division.
The unemployed youth include MBBS and Engineering pass-outs, diploma holders, post-graduates, graduates and others, he said.
The Minister also said fast-track recruitment policy has been adopted to fill all vacant posts and both Gazetted and non-Gazetted posts have been referred to the recruiting agencies.
Referring to recent Budget announcement, the Minister said that all state-sponsored self-employment schemes will be subsumed into a better incentivized single sector-agnostic credit linked scheme to address the unemployment problem.
“All the beneficiaries of the said scheme shall have to mandatorily undergo a comprehensive entrepreneurship development program through RSETIS and J&KEDI,” he said.
