BulayawoZimbabwe Cricket Board has acquired the services of former South African fast bowler Makhaya Ntini and former Sri Lankan batsman Marvan Atapattu as assistant coach and batting consultant respectively.
The development was confirmed by a report on the ZC website which detailed that Ntini has been handed a two-year contract with the board.
ZC has also re-assigned former bowling coach Douglas Hondo to the Zimbabwe A team and Ntini, who is a veteran of 101 Tests and 173 One-Day Internationals will begin work from 16th February.
With 390 wickets from 190 Test innings, Ntini remains the third highest wicket-taker in South African history, only behind Shaun Pollock and Dale Steyn.
Atapattu, who recently coached Sri Lanka will be with the Zimbabwe national team for the upcoming tour of Bangladesh which consists of four Twenty20 Internationals.
The appointment of Atapattu comes after former batting coach Andrew Wallers tenure came to an end on 25th October 2015.
ZC also stated in its statement that it will look to retain Atapattu for a longer period and will review his contract after the completion of the tour of Bangladesh.
Zimbabwe kick-start their T20I tour of Bangladesh with the first game on 15th January with the remaining games slated to be played on 17th, 20th and 22nd January in Khulna.
