Poonch: The Mid-day meal cooks who were recruited Sarva Shiksha Abhihyaan (SSA) a Central Government scheme are without salary from past 21 months in Balakote zone of Poonch district.
The cooks are reportedly paid 1000 rupees per month but over the past 21 months they are without their monthly salaries. The cooks said that they are facing hardships and appealed the concerned officials to release their salaries instantly.
Meanwhile, CEO Poonch Lal Hussain said that they have released their salaries of eight months.
We have sent 8 months salary to the concerned zones but why have not it been forwarded to the employees, he said and expressed surprise over the non-payment. He assured that he will probe the matter.
However, the subordinate officials denied the statement of CEO Poonch and said they have no knowledge regarding the same.
None of grants have reached to me and I will confirm it from the concerned Mid-Meal incharge Balakote. I totally have no knowledge regarding this, said ZEO Balakote, Abdul Rashid Chaduary.
